I have built and customized this website using the Wordpress blogging system.

This is to give an example of using an open source content management system that separates the information you want to present from the graphical layout. Since there is a login and editing system built in, you avoid hand coding of HTML pages and uploading them to a site manually.

Everything on this site, including the “backend” logic (Wordpress), the database (MySQL), the contact form (plugin script), as well as the site template are available as free downloads. Although this particular system is originally intended as a weblog with dynamic, changing content,  I wanted to showcase the possibility of using it as a more-or-less static website that could be built in a couple of days rather than weeks. In fact, if you already have an outline or good idea of the information you would like to present, there’s no practical reason your site couldn’t be up and live in a day.
